Chiswick police station to become retirement homes

Birchgrove, the developer which purchased the site of Chiswick Police Station, has announced plans to convert it into retirement homes.

Chiswick Police Station is located at 205-207 Chiswick High Road, and is currently host to a large-scale public art installation. The freehold was put up for sale by the Metropolitan Police in September of 2021, and was sold to Birchgrove for an undisclosed amount earlier this year.

The police station will be demolished and replaced with a new four-storey block of 48 apartments as well as communal spaces.

Birchgrove is a specialist developer of retirement properties for rent. This site would be its seventh property, with three currently operational and three in development.

Birchgrove Chief Executive Honor Barratt told Laing Buisson News: "Chiswick and Leatherhead together take the Birchgrove portfolio to seven neighbourhoods, each unique and glorious in their own way but all sharing the same commitment to helping people live a long and happy life.”
